Glentui Camp
First thing on
Tuesday Year 7 & 8 went on camp. We all went in different cars and I was in
Ben’s Dad’s car with Campbell, Jayden, and Ben. We had an awesome time in the
car but when we got there it was better.
After we got to
Glentui Meadows we went inside and brought our bags into the dining hall. There
we had to wait for the other trailer to arrive. Then about 11:20 am the trailer
arrived and the parents helped to bring the bags into the dining hall. After
quite a while we had lunch. When I looked at the group list (on the wall) to
see what group I was in, I found out I was in group 2. Then I went in to my
cabin to see my cabin mates they were: Lucas, Nick, Shunto, Hunter, Campbell
and Ben.
After that I heard
a whistle blow, I went to the common room. My group had to stay in the common
room to play Initiative Games with Mrs. Black. First we played a game where you
had to guess when their birthday is. It’s very hard because you’re not allowed
to talk. Next we had abseiling and it was horrible because I slipped at the
beginning.
After that we had
River Study with the DOC people and it was a bit boring. Then we went to
Outdoor cooking with Mr. Barr and we made pikelets.
The best of the
best is the 3 hour walk and I got everything I needed. I packed a drink bottle,
a jacket, and food. On the walk everyone at the back (like me) started to get
tired because it turned out to be a 5 hour walk. On Thursday I went to
Wellington so I left early. In the end my favorite activity was spotlight.
Glentui was the best!
