Kaylee's camp recount

Camp Glentui

“Oh my god I am so excited” I said as we drove off to my second camp at Merrin School. Half an hour later… “Are we there yet” I ask Mum, as me and the others our getting extremely bored “no said mum another half hour maybe” “I know we’ll put on a glee CD”I told the others. We were bopping around for what seemed hours then someone yelled out “look we are here” “hurray” everyone cheered in happiness and ran to their bunk rooms. After transporting everything we brought from the trailer to the bunks we all waited in the common room in our groups ready for our first rotation.

Group one (my group) was doing abseiling first we were all nervous to the max. “Your go Kaylee” Naomi the instructor told me and my heart started pounding so hard it felt like a gorilla was pounding on my chest with his stiff, hurtful fists. Naomi clipped my harness to the rope and before I new it I was half way down the cliff face “This isn’t hard at all I told myself as I kept on going until I jumped to the landing.

We then walked back to camp and sat at a table in the dinning room and had our lunch that we brought from home. Everyone must have been starving because we were all finished in about five minutes.

It was then time for my group to get mucky and go down to the river to find what species of water insects that live there. Another thing we did was test the temperature and the clarity of the water and to us it was freezing to us but perfect for the water insects.

Luckily it was now time for sport with Mr. Russel. We all played a very long game of softball unfortunately my team lost but I didn’t mind because it was a fun game and everyone joined in and had a good time.

When we finished sport we went back to camp and had some free time my friends and I went swimming and it was so freezing I thought that my toes and fingers were going to fall off 5 minutes later we all hopped in the showers and warmed up.

Mmmm its time for dinner pasta and mince my favorite I ate it all up and had seconds. Then it was time for dessert crepes, plum sauce and ice cream it was so good, like heaven on a plate. Then there was more free time before hot chocolate. After our hot chocolates it was time to get ready for bed and have a good night sleep ready for tomorrow (yeah right).

The next day everyone in my woke up at 7:30am and
We all went and ate breakfast in the dinning room after getting ready for our second day at
Glentui meadows. Our first rotation for the day was making pikelets on a hobo stove with Mr. Barr. It was so fun me and my partner Tessa made three pikelets altogether they were very tasty.

We then came back to camp and it was time for us to go to Mrs. Black and play initiative games I would imagine we all looked hilarious crawling around the floor with blindfolds on.

The whistle then blew for us to line up in the common room ready for lunch. For lunch we had freshly made buns with any fillings we wanted.

Later that night while we waited for it to get dark half of us went to the common room with Mrs. Mac and Mr. Russel and played charades. When it was finally dark we went out for a game of spotlight and it was almost to dark we couldn’t see anything. After spotlight we sat in the dinning room and had some delicious biscuits and more hot chocolate.

The first two days of camp and I can’t wait for the next two days to arrive.
