Glentui Meadows!

“Ok I'm going to be honest that night I didn’t get any sleep.” On Tuesday the day of camp I woke up got dressed and waited to leave. It felt like a million years had gone by. “Brittany come on we're leaving,” at this point I wanted to run to the car. When I got to school I waited patiently for my friends Olivia, Tessa and Seerat to come. If you know me I’m not a very patient person.

I heard a voice coming from the back of my head, it was Livi. I was pumped by now. I hopped in the car. I was going with Zia, tony, Vincent, Sam and Dave. About an hour later I look up. Glentui Meadows that’s all I see. I jump rapidly out the car get my bags and race into that squiggly doorway.

This is my diary of camp Glentui!

Day1:     Diary Log

When we first got there we all went to the common room and got put into 5 groups. I was in group 2 with Olivia. Oh happy days. After they told us what groups we were in we got to choose our bunk rooms. We rampaged to the cabins. Izzy, Livi, Tess, Seerat, Sophie and I were in the same cabin.

I got the top bunk, as I say first in first served. All of us got settled in. We hear a miniature knock on the door we all scream,"who is it?" Mrs Mac appears through the door asking if we had any spare beds we say two. By now we’re all wondering what was happening. She tells us one of the bunk rooms got split and more people are staying with us. I didn’t really care when I heard the news.

The whistle blew. We all had to go to the common room. The common room is a room with a lot of space and a tiny T.V with two couches.

Rotation time, group 2 was with Mrs Black indoor games and it was exhilarating. We played games like Horseshoe. It's when there are seven cup plastic of course, and 2 people are blindfolded and the rest of the people are in a circle. There are 2 chairs in the middle.  Person from the the circle hides the cups inside the circle. The blindfolded people sit on there chairs and when the person in charge says go the 2 people race on the ground and find the cups and the first person with the cups on there chairs wins. Rules u aren’t aloud to fit and u can steal cups off the other persons chairs an don’t take your blindfold off.   

After that rotation we had our own lunch packed lunch. When we finished with lunch we had our second rotation. My group went abseiling I was a bit nervous. Naomi ask us who was keen on going first I saw James and Montana put there hands up and no one else so somehow I decide to put my hand up. First James went he said it wasn’t that scary so did Montana but when it was my turn to do it I was shaking. My legs started tingling with numbness I was scared! When I got to the edge I looked down I really didn’t want to go over the first bit. As soon as I reached the middle of the rocks I started to feel less nervous. As soon as I reached the bottom I looked up it wasn’t as far as I thought. After I was done I had to go up the stairs to get back to the top of the abseiling those step were steep. When everyone finished we went back to the camp. My day ended with a marvelous dinner then for desert Pancakes with cream ice cream and a plum sauce. Then as the day actually ended we had supper before we went to bed we had Milo and biscuits for supper man that was good.

Day 2:   Diary Log

That day my day started with a rude awakening from Izzy shining her torch in my eyes. I slept pretty well that night. I got dressed and staggered downstairs to the common room and they let us in the dining room, one group at a time. My group was first. When we were done eating we got all got ready and pumped for our next rotation.

Group 2 my group did river studies first. It was outrageously cool. There were really tiny creatures that Olivia, Monty, Freya and I fought the insects we found. We didn’t find much big ones only the really little ones. After the fighting Olivia decided to try get to the other side to go on a rock but instead she got on one of the slippery rocks and slipped right off. She was soaked. I know I wasn’t supposed to laugh but I was laughing hard out in my head and at her I felt really bad but it was funny.

When we finished river studies I was as cold as a hairless cat in the Antarctic waters. Well not that cold but I was very cold. I had to change my shoes and socks because they were soaked. When I was warm again and could feel my feet I went to lunch I really don’t remember what it was but I know it was scrumptious. When that ended we had outdoor cooking that was creatively awesome. I was with Olivia for outdoor cooking. Our fire wouldn’t go at first everyone else’s was starting but ours we didn’t even know why.  We got one white fire lighter that saved our lives not really but we got to cook piklets. Our first fire went out after 3 piklets then our 2^nd fire didn’t go out but it wasn’t very strong the funny thing is that out fire got stronger when we had to stop and clean up. The outdoor cooking was awesome except those stairs annoyed the heeby jeebies out of me. Couldn’t they just of made an elevator or escalator.   

When we got back up we all had free time. I swam that day not the first day swimming was tiring and the water was freezing. After free time we had dinner and desert. That night we played spotlight. I lost the first game, then lost the second game I won I remember running towards everyone with my friends by my side spotlights on us (I imagined this in slow motion) but it wasn’t. for the last game I lost again because Mitchell Ellis was talking so they found me and Zia. At the end of all of that we had to go back up the stairs it wasn’t that fun as always. When we reached the top supper was on the table we had Milo and biscuits as always but it was good because we had different biscuit to choose from each time.  When we finished our time in the dining we all had to get ready for bed. My cabin got told off twice for being loud so we decided to all fall in to a deep sleep until some one decides to fart not naming any names.

Day 3:    Diary Log

I woke up very droopy I was so tired. I got dressed for the day and went to breakfast. After I had breakfast we all went into the common room with our stuff to go walking with the big walk and the small walk. I didn’t go. Neither did Sophie, Riain, Luke and Jordan also including myself. We played games with these magnetic balls and talked. As children started arriving back it started getting noisier it was fun when it was silent and only with like 8 or 9 people there. When everyone was back we had lunch I still couldn’t believe how fast camp was going by. At free time we I went back to my cabin with my friends and started talking I had raro so I was drinking that. Next thing we knew its tea time I was so excited. Then we watch a movie it was Mr Beans something I think. That night a legend was born o so I think that’s all I’m saying.

Day 4:    Diary Log

The next morning I had breakfast really fast. That day some kids went down to play games while others cleaned I played the games. we all went back up for lunch and some boys Josh, Riain and I think James decided to wet people including me what a mistake that was for them I got them back way worse but I also got in to trouble but it was worth it. That camp day ended and we all had to go back to school none of us really wanted to. I was so tired when I arrived at school. As soon as I got home slept for 4 hours straight. As soon I woke up it only then started to feel like camp was over and I was at home at home.

That was my adventure of camp 2012!
