The Saber Tooth Tiger (a.k.a Saber Tooth Cat) was a fierce predator and a member of the Carnivora. It lived many years ago in the time of the Ice Age.

According to scientists Saber Tooth Tigers probably ate deer,antelope,mammoths,buffalo,rhinos and many other animals. Unlike lions, they hid ambushed from a short distance to catch prey. When they ambushed large animals they went in a pack (big group). They were the top of the food chain.
  Asia and Europe were their places they lived.
  Saber Tooth were about the size of the African lion. Some grew up to 15 feet in length. They also had long sabre-shaped canine teeth they used to grab and hold on to prey. Smildons (a type of saber tooth), were a little smaller than panthers but heavier, weighing 440 pounds.

  Saber Tooth Tigers were vicious predators ( with long canine teeth), that have been extinct  for about 10,000 years.
