Alex's Information Report

Egyptian Pyramids

The pyramids of Egypt fascinate travellors and conquerors in ancient times and continue to inspire tourists and archaeologists who visit, explore and measure them.

The Egyptian Pyramids are ancient structures. The great pyramid of Khufu stands at 146m high, has a 230m square base and weighs about 6.5 million tons. Near pyramids you may find a tomb, a temple, or a chapel (a church).

The estimated number of workers to build the pyramids ranged from a few thousand to twenty thousand and up to one hundred thousand.

Several pyramids in Giza (city in Egypt) are some of the biggest structures ever built. The most famous pyramid in Giza is the great pyramid of Khufu.

The earliest pyramid ever built was built in 2670 BC. It was built in Saqqara.

The Egyptian pyramids are fascinating and interesting. Archaeologists have spent hundreds of years studying them.       By Alexandria :)
